Skiving and roller burnishing tools are used for the functional production of internal diameters of cylinder tubes. These combine machining (skiving) and roughness reduction (roller burnishing) in a single tool, allowing both processes to be carried out simultaneously. Skiving tube produces the dimensional and shape accuracy required for hydraulic cylinders, for example. Roller burnishing influences the roughness of the surface directly after machining. The usual target values here are Ra 0.1µm – 0.3µm.
